Support Learners through Active Learning

Simply put, active learning happens when learners are actively engaged in the process of learning, including the acquisition of knowledge and the application of such. A form of active learning is metacognition, where learners actively consider how themselves think and what they choose to do as part of their own learning.

Active learning can happen both inside and outside of the classroom - it does not require the use of technology, but can be enhanced by its use. The Office of Teaching and Learning supports the use of Top Hat, an active learning platform offered through the OSU main campus, in classes offered here at the College of Veterinary Medicine.
