  • CVM Community (https://cvmcommunity.osu.edu) is an internal website for the College of Veterinary Medicine.  You will need your name.# credentials to access the site.  There are numerous "Group" pages that contain information and resources relevant to those groups.  The Faculty/Staff Group of Professional Program Support has important information and forms regarding CVM policies for students.  Please make this group one of your "Favorites" for easier access. Watch this short video overview click on this link: CVM Video Overview

  • Class Email Lists are the main mechanism used to communicate to DVM students based upon their class year.  Faculty of core classes will use this email list to communicate course related information and administration uses this to communicate relevant college related information to students. Only name.# email addresses are accepted on the class email lists. Please review the PDF icon Email Guidelines

Technology for Learning

  • iPad Requirement - All DVM students are required to have an iPad to use during their pre-clinical years. The device will be used for core course examinations, review of electronic materials in Carmen, and annotation of electronic notes as needed. New students, please refer to communications from PPS for the minimum technology requirements applicable to your class year. You can purchase devices and softwares at discounted practices at Tech Hub on campus.

  • iPad Apps for Success - This handout lists recommended and required apps that you are encouraged to download and set up prior to coming to campus, including BuckeyeBox (unlimited storage), Examplify (testing application), Top Hat (in-class response tool), and Office 365 (offline and online Microsoft Office apps).
  • Carmen - Carmen is Ohio State's Learning Management System; at times, you might also hear it being referred to as "Canvas", which is its original name by the vendor. To learn more about Carmen, check out ODEE's Getting Started guide, including navigate in Carmen, and set up your notification preferences.

  • ExamSoft - All Core course exams are administered on Examplify, which is an electronic testing program owned and supported by ExamSoft. All students are required to download the Examplify app on their personal iPad, which they will use to take exams. Instructions for downloading and logging into Examplify will be sent later this summer. The Professional Program Support staff will also provide training and instructions prior to the first exam or quiz.
